Beginning of the End

This was my last week of Summer break from CSU Chico, on Monday the 26th I am entering my final semester!  I finished a drawing for a boy named Daniel who is 9 years old.  My good friend Matt Wilson brought over several toys of Daniels a few weeks ago wanting me to draw them.  I was told he watched "Rocket Monkeys," so that is the look I went with. Here are the pictures I took of the toy for reference, and the final image.

I dedicated my final summer vacation to animation and getting better at it.  In my final week of break I finished an alarm wake up animation and went back to the first animation I did during the first week of break almost three months ago.  Looking back at the original piece from three months ago I can see I have learned a lot and figured out a lot during these 3 months, but also see that I have a long, long, long way to go, and am looking forward to absorbing as much knowledge as I can from John Pozzi and Mark Pullyblank in the next few months. Enjoy and thanks for looking at my blog!(no sound alarm, sound Big Trouble)

I really enjoyed making the animatic. I am a horrible writer but had fun learning the process of how to make an animatic/storyboard. ;D Thanks, Enjoy!!!

Worked on a pogo stick loop animation 2 weeks ago. I am not sure if you can loop the video in Vimeo ;( This one was a good learning experience creating a locator, and parenting the hands to the pogo stick. I also picked up zv parent master to help parent objects. I did not use it in this scene but am glad I have it for future use.

Been working on a lot of animation since being out of school for the summer break. Wanted to share one of the animations I was working on the previous week. Tried to get a sit to stand and dialogue. Next semester we will focus on dialogue but I wanted to give it a try and get started early.
Work in progress Warcraft 3/kelthuzad/necromancer inspired character I started last weekend, just finished the line drawing and filled in the layers for value/coloring. Roughly added value, possible colors, and light source.

Previous weeks work.  Soapbox car.  Would have a lawnmower type of engine fitted in the rear, but didn't have enough time to make engine and show in drawing. :(
Another soapbox car, this one is from last semester.
